Indian Intelligence agencies have reported that the Chinese apps are extracting user data from the smartphones. It is advised to people that they should stop using this apps. These Chinese apps are linked to neighboring country China, with whom India is currently facing complications due to a border face-off.

Intel agencies have also raised concerns about video conferencing app Zoom. In our previous post we have mentioned about the privacy threat caused by Zoom. In April this year, the home ministry had issued advisory concerns on the use of Zoom on the recommendation of the national cybersecurity agency – Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-in). Zoom has been deemed as an unsafe platform and asked users to make certain security settings to safeguard meetings from malicious attackers.

The main concern why we shouldn't use these applications is because  they are extracting a huge amount of private data and sending them outside India, as reported by a report in Hindustani Times.
